View from the passenger seat #2 - Border Controls

We have still some borders ahead, but I think some words should be shared about the borders we already have left behind us.

A foreign license plate is always raising suspicion, but all the trips we had through Europe so far never raised that much... attention. No, I am not talking about the car, I am talking more about the density of the controls. So far we had 3 controls at five EU-Borders and none at the Norwegian one, which was rather surprising after all we (or better Siggi) heard or experienced.

Did I say it was not related to the car? Maybe this is a bit of a lie, cause In the Check Republic they were less interested in the passports than the interiors.

At the Latvian border we still had the little teddy bear of my GF sitting on the back seat, with the seat belt fastened of course. The only one who was aware of this was the guy checking the passports with a stern look. We of course have put on our "littleboyswhowanttolookinocent"-look on, which must have raised suspicion on its own - with the bear in the back. The only words that came from the Police man were: "Good Luck." Whatever he meant by that. :D

At the Finnish border we had the longest conversation so far. The woman either did not understand the meaning of the word "NORTHCAP" or how we would ever get there with an electric vehicle. Even a thorrow inspecion of the trunk could not convince her. Siggi, as always in tshirt, helped not at all explaining to her colleague in a warm jacket on the windy pier that this is of course his car. A cold and wordless turnaround of both of them ended the constant repetition of repetitions rather immediate. Thankfully.

Nobody can know how the next borders will be, but lets hope the best ;)
